Hello everyone
I want to share what I learnt from today's mass indoctrination service which tagged "OBEYING AND MAKING SCRIFICES unto GOD"
But before I proceed I will like to explain what offering is all about.
An offering is that which is freely given by Christians to the work of the Lord,
Giving shows he is Lord if our lives, so, when we give, we simply offer him a small portion of the abundance he has already given to us. Giving is an expression of our thankfulness and praise to God. It comes from a heart of worship that recognize everything we have and give already given to the Lord.
According to the book of Mark 12:41-44(NIV)
Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts.
But a poor window came and put in two very small Copper coins, Worth only a fraction of a penny.
Jesus called his disciples and said said "I tell you the truth this poor window has put more into the treasury than all the others.
They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything she had to live on.
2 Corinthians 9:7
Every man according; as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity; for God liveth a cheeful giver.
People shouldn't be forced to give God, you are the one who will decide how much you will give, not the pastor or the preacher. Giving should come from the ♥ heart not forcefully.
Hebrews 13:15
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually,that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
So my brother and sisters please let's live the life of cheerful giver like our Lord.
