Religion is belief in something recognized as having a higher power. For example, christians believe in God almighty, the creator of heaven and earth. Christianity has christ as the head and adopts Christlike behaviour. Islam is another religion that has muslims as the adhetents. They believe in one supreme being called Allah and with the notion that there is no other god except Allah.
There is also traditional religion where idols and deities are worshipped. Some of these religions believe in the hereafter, like Christianity believe in life after death where a person should give account of his life here on earth as a determinant factor for where one will spend eternity; in hell fire or heaven. Muslims also believe in the hereafter where a good Muslim ends up in paradise and a bad one ends in hell.
The traditional religion has belief in reincarnation. A situation where one dies and comes back to life through rebirth. There is yet another religion-hinduism, where the dead is cremated showing the end of that life. Religions are many and varied. Different religions have different ways of worshipping, praising and adoring their objects of belief. That's religion for your digest.
