Scriptures from the bible:Romans 7:22, psalms 40:8, II peter 2:12, Jeremiah 6:16, Genesis 1:26, Isaiah 3:16.
Today’s mass indoctrination day 10 was really inspiring. The discussions made by brother Eli was centered on essential aspects of Christian living, including our responsibility to live according to the word of God and continually seek his ways in our journey on earth.
Embracing God’s will
Brother Eli talked about the importance of delighting in Gods law and making it part of our daily lives. True joy and fulfillment comes from obeying God and keeping his word to our heart.
Romans 7:22: For in my inner being I delight in God's law
Psalms 40:8: I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.
We should always find pleasure in doing Gods will, as it strengthens our connection to God and enables us live a life filled with his grace and mercies.
Recognizing and resisting temptations
Being able to acknowledge human weaknesses is crucial in avoiding sin. Brother Eli reminded us to always stay vigilant because many influences around us can make us deviate from the right part of God.
II peter 2:12: But these people blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like unreasoning animals, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like animals they too will perish.
By being grounded in faith and prayer, us as Christians will be able to arm ourselves against such challenges, ensuring that we remain steadfast in our spiritual life.
Walking in the path of God
Brother Eli also encouraged us to always seek the righteous path, this means looking back at the foundations of our faith and embracing the ways God has set and planned for us. He also said we should remain humble and obedient, understanding that God’s ways are always best for us.
Jeremiah 6:16: Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, 'We will not walk in it.
Living as reflections of God
It is a privilege for each and everyone of us to be created in God’s image. As such, we must embody his love, justice, and righteousness in our daily lives. Brother Eli made us to understand how well our live should mirror Gods character, as Christians we should strive for continuous growth in faith and good works.
Genesis 1:26: Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.
Avoid pride and vanity
Another crucial point was the danger of pride and vanity, such attitudes distance us from God and hinder our spiritual growth.
Isaiah 3:16: The LORD says, “The women of Zion are haughty, walking along with outstretched necks, flirting with their eyes, strutting along with swaying hips, with ornaments jingling on their ankles.
As Christians we should remain, humble, modest, and focused on spiritual rather than worldly matters.
