Been quite a while i have been thinking about this, i ask myself every-time why do people change? Why do people make promises today and fail tomorrow? Why do people say something now and go about doing another thing?.
I realized later on that it’s not mostly a deliberate act except for the chronic liars, corrupt politicians and what have you, but for normal humans it’s more or less a reflex action.
We tend to make promises in the rave of the moment and do otherwise when we are calm and collected and process our thoughts rationally.
Have you ever wondered why when you’re in a difficult situation that you have to defend yourself with your words, lying becomes quite easy. It isn’t that you’ve thought about it before or anything, it’s just your survival instinct coming to play. It’s a reflex for most people.
The bible made us to understand that we aren’t perfect except the God almighty but however we were admonished to strive for perfection nevertheless. It said further that we should be holy even as our father is holy.
That is to say that the idea that we as men would fail our loved ones, our family and friends and most importantly ourselves is because we have been flawed from the beginning and it’s takes an high level of self awareness, honesty and ability to act in line with ones words.
If you as an imperfect human decides to place your faith on another imperfect human, you’d perfectly be disappointed with their imperfections.
Ask yourself this question, are you dependable, can you be depended upon in critical moments. The answer would be No because that critical moment might be critical for you too and selfishness would come into play. The bible says love your neighbor as yourselves and. Ot kore than yourself. It is definitely unwise to love someone else above oneself. Though bible scholars would say there is a place for individual sacrifice in the human relationship with man and with God.
But i beg to differ, we as humans naturally think about ourselves first before others.
Beloved, do not try to depend on anybody for your provision or anything, Depend solely on God and he’d provide that which you request through somebody else and not necessarily who you expect.
David said in the book of psalms that he’d look up to hills from whence cometh his help, the help cometh from the Lord who made heave and earth.
The bible further says the earth is of the Lord and the fullness there in. Another chapter in the bible says seek ye first the kingdom of God and it’s righteousness and everything other thing would be added onto you.
If you have depth of understanding about the bible and the promises of God for you as a child of God and joint heirs with Christ, you wouldn’t be interested in placing your faith in any man or anything because you’d tap into the riches as joint heirs with Christ.
