Hello, and welcome to my blog. Today I want to relate my insight on the teaching, THE BIRTH OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST Brought to us by Bro. Eli Soriano.
So today, we observe that birthday celebration is a thing in the world and even for Christians. Birth of Christ is one of the most celebrated births in the world currently and today bro Eli. has thrown some light on the issue according to the scripture. Reading from the book of Luke 2 verse 41 - 50 we could observe that the earth parents of Jesus never celebrated Jesus birth rather as Jews, they celebrated the passover feast.
41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.
42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
We can draw from Ecclesiastes 7 verse 1 that a good name and the day of death are more valued than precious ointment and the day of birth.
A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.
This bible passage lets us understand that your achievement must have come to an end at death and the day is worth celebrating than day of birth when nothing has been achieved
In Revelation 14 verse 13, it describes those who die in the Lord as saints. It follows that their good works here on earth shall not be forgotten.
And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
These scriptures guided the Jews and Christians of the first century which caused them to not celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Remain blessed!
