Greetings Everyone!
As Christians, we have financial responsibility to people who are needful of our help.
The teachings of Christ Jesus was centered on love. He taught us to love one another and to do good works. In Matthew 5:42, Jesus admonished us to give to those asking of us, without turning away from those who want to borrow from us. So Christ Jesus taught us to be cheerful givers. Even to those who are going to borrow from us, we should give.
In our giving, we are not to discriminate, but give to everyone, whether our relative, friends or enemy. Someone must not be our direct responsibility before we help. We should help everyone.
According to Bro Eli, spiritually speaking, we have financial obligations to people who are needful of our help.
Jesus Christ told us to give to those that ask of us, and from him that would borrow from us, we should not deny.
Christians means to be like Christ, so we should obey the teachings of Christ and be like him in giving to the needy, helping the poor, visiting the widows and orphans.
Luke 5:35 says;
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
We have financial obligations to even those who are not our friends, those that hate and fight us, we should help them.
In Exodus 22:25, the children of Israel where admonished not to charge interested in Money borrowed to the needy.
The love for God is to love our fellowmen as ourselves. Whatever we would like others to do to us, we should do to others. If we would like others to help us when in need, we should help others in need.
We should always remember the poor and do good to them. So, we have financial obligations to people who are needful of our help.
