Going to heaven, is it a destiny? ( Part 3)

Greetings Everyone!

According to Bro Eli, there is a possibility that even if someone was destined or chosen be God, he turned a reprobate. If a person chosen by God lives a life of disobedience to the will of God, he may not make it to heaven, if he will not maintain being obedient to God.

Apostle Paul was destined by God to be a great man. He was appointed to be the light of the Gentiles, according to Isaiah 49:6

And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

That was a great honor, that before his birth it was written in the prophecies of Isaiah, that the apostle Paul will be a light to the Gentiles, and God said it is a light thing, that thou shouldest be my servant. He appointed Paul to be his servant, making him a light to the Gentiles.

Acts 13:46-47

Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

The verses above prove that Paul was ordained by God to be light to the gentiles. The Israelites didn't receive apostle Paul as they should, then apostle Paul turned to the gentiles to whom he was sent. He was destined to be a great apostle, to be a great servant of the Lord even before he was born. His person is described in the prophecy of Isaiah, but when he is already performing his function as an apostle, he kept his body under subjection and followed the will of God, so that he would not end up as a cast away.

So irrespective of being chosen by God, one has to keep himself in line with the commandments of God in order to make it to heaven. Paul had to discipline himself and walked in the will of God.
