I want to contribute to today's Bible exposition question:"Is Mary a descendant of David or Aaron? ( Part 2)
If our Lord Jesus Christ came from the tribe of Judah.
Then the question is, if Mary is a cousin of Elizabeth,who was a daughter of Aaron from Levite , then what is the possibility of Jesus Christ coming from a tribe of Judah?
There is possibility that Jesus Christ is From Judah. I believe the authorities of the bible. I believe all that is written in the Bible.
If you are questioning this, then you are questioning the authorities of the bible. The problem is not me but the scripture. It was Apostle Paul that recorded that Jesus Christ is from tribe of judah.
Let's read the lineage of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the book of Matthew 1:1-6 " The book of generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David ,the son of Abraham".
Verse 2 ; Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethrens
Verse 3" and Judas begat Phares and Zara of Tamar; and Plates begat Esrom ; and Esrom begat Aram;
Verse 4" And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;
Verse 5 " And Salmon begat Boaz of Rahab; and Rahab begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
Verse 6 "And Jesse begat king David; and David begat king Solomon.
Verse 7" and Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
Verse 8 " And Asa begat Jehoshaphat ; and Jehoshaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;
Verse 9" And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz ; and Achaz begat Ezekias;
Verse 10" and Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josiah;
Verse 11" and Josiah begat Jechoniah and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
Verse 12" And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechoniah begat Shealtiel; and Shealtiel begat Zorobabel;
Verse 13" And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
Verse 14" And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
Verse 15" And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eliazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
Verse 16" And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, and who is called Christ.
Joseph descended from David through his son Solomon.
Significantly, the genealogy begins with Abraham, is traced through King David, and, for Jesus to truly be a son of David, depends on Joseph actually being the father of Jesus.
