Hello everyone
I am here to contribute to today's Bible exposition question: What is the faith of the thief on the cross written in Luke 23:42-43? (Part 6 of 7)
Philippians 2:12"So then, dear friends, as you always obeyed me when I was with you, it is even more important that you obey me now while I am away from you. Keep on working with fear and trembling to complete your salvation.
We have to the good works my brothers and sisters. For it is in doing good works, that we can be saved.
If you are going to live ,like a few minutes or second or a day, your faith is enough to give u salvation, may be you are not given any chance to do good works.
But if u are going to live for more than a day or a year, after you have received the faith, you have to grow in Christ i.e by learning how to do good works.
We should imitate our Lord Jesus Christ in doing good works. Doing good include ;to our friends and also our enemy.
Remember what the Bible says in Matthew 5:44"But now I tell you: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you".
Matthew 25:32-33" and the people of all the nations will be gathered before him. Then he will divide them into two groups, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the righteous people at his right and the others at his left.
Matthew 25: 34-35 "Then the King will say to the people on his right, 'Come, you that are blessed by my Father! Come and possess the kingdom which has been prepared for you ever since the creation of the world.
Verse 35 "was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me a drink; I was a stranger and you received me in your homes".
Verse 36"naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me, in prison and you visited me".
Verse 37"The righteous will then answer him, 'When, Lord, did we ever see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink"?
Verse 38"When did we ever see you a stranger and welcome you in our homes, or naked and clothe you"?
Verse 39 "When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you"?
Verse 40" The King will reply, 'I tell you, whenever you did this for one of the least important of these followers of mine, you did it for me!''.
According to the above passages, the Kingdom of God is a merit that does all these good works .
Brethren, good works is necessary to obtain salvation.
Thank you.
