We should always learn to forgive those who offend us, just as God forgives us when we ask for His mercy. The Bible teaches us that holding onto anger and resentment only hurts us in the long run. Forgiveness doesn’t mean what they did was okay, but it means choosing peace over bitterness. When we let go of grudges, we free ourselves from unnecessary stress and allow God’s love to bring healing into our hearts.
But let’s be honest forgetting is not as easy as forgiving. When someone hurts us deeply, the memories don’t just disappear overnight. Seeing them again might bring back the pain, but true forgiveness means refusing to let those memories control how we treat them. It’s not about pretending it never happened, but about choosing to move forward without hatred. Forgiveness is a process, and sometimes, it takes time.
God wants us to forgive just as He forgives us.
In Colossians 3:13, the Bible says, “Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”
This means no matter how big the offense is, we should strive to let it go. When we refuse to forgive, we carry a burden that only weighs us down. But when we choose to forgive, we open our hearts to peace and blessings from God.
Life is too short to hold onto grudges. We should not allow anger or bitterness to steal our joy. Instead, let’s learn to let go, not just for others, but for ourselves. When we choose love, kindness, and understanding, we reflect God’s grace in our lives. Forgiveness may not always be easy, but it’s always worth it.
When we forgive others despite their wrong doings we directly seek God's mercy upon us because we also leave in a sinful world....this is a wonderful write up
