Regaining the love of parents (part 1 of 2) | The old path| mcgi

Getting back the love of your parents isn’t always easy, but it’s possible. Sometimes, we make mistakes or have disagreements that create distance, and that can be painful. But love doesn’t just disappear overnight. It may take time, but with a sincere heart and real effort, you can rebuild your relationship. The Bible says in

Ephesians 6:2, “Honor your father and mother.”

That simply means showing them respect and care, even when things feel strained. Small actions like checking in on them, helping out, or just saying “I love you” can go a long way in healing the bond.

Forgiveness is one of the most important steps in fixing a broken relationship. Just as God forgives us, we should also learn to forgive.

Colossians 3:13 reminds us, “Forgive each other just as the Lord forgave you.”

Sometimes, parents make mistakes too. Maybe they said something hurtful or didn’t understand your struggles. Holding onto anger only keeps the distance between you. But when you choose to let go of past pain and show kindness, you create room for love to grow again.

Rebuilding trust takes time, but it’s not impossible. It’s not just about saying sorry it’s about proving through your actions that you want things to be better. Showing up, being responsible, and treating your parents with kindness can help rebuild the bond.

Proverbs 20:11 says, “Even children show what they are like by the things they do.”

This means that your actions speak louder than words. When you consistently show love and respect, your parents will notice and slowly start opening their hearts again.

Most importantly, don’t forget the power of prayer and patience. Sometimes, no matter how hard we try, things take longer than we expect. But God sees your efforts.

Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find.”

Pray for understanding, for healing, and for the strength to keep going. No relationship is perfect, but with love, patience, and faith, you can bring back the warmth and closeness you once had with your parents.
