Having a close, personal, intimate relationship with God is wonderful. It is obvious from the Psalms that David had this kind of relationship with the Lord, and we can have it too. David wrote that even during the night God spoke to and counseled him. He said his eyes were always on the Lord, and we can form the habit of always having one ear turned toward the Lord no matter what we are doing. We can always be watching and waiting for God to speak to us. This kind of intimate relationship with God gives us great confidence that no matter what happens, we will stand firm and not be upset or disturbed.
