My own view of point on this topic is that every church of God must named after the servant of God. Anything from God should always have the glory of God. According to 1Timothy 3:5 tell us that:
[5](For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
As you accept Christ, you automatically accept His church.
For this joining the church mean to accept the will of God and believe in all that is written in the Bible.
Ephesians 3: 6 tell us that
[6]That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
Through gospel we are part of the church of God. The gospel of Christ teaches us how to live here on earth.
Colossians 3:16 tell us that
[16]Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
