Why do good people suffer while the wicked prosper?

Hello brethren

We shouldn't draw this conclusion that good people always suffer while the wicked prosper, or that bad things happen to good people, while evil happen to good people.

Ecclesiastes 9:2

All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.

According to king Solomon, there is one event to the righteous and to the weekend, to the good and to the clean and to the unclean, to him that sacrifice it, and to him that sacrifice it not as is the good, so is the Sinner, and he that swear it as he that fear it and oath. This is the observation of Solomon.
There are people that perceive in their mind that things that happened to a person should not happen to him. There are other things that happen to other person which is for their perception must not happen to him. Solomon said, all things come alike to all. This means that God is always just and God's justice is served not only in this life.

John the Baptist died a little over 30 years old, and he died in the cruel hands of Herod the king, so he died at a very young age. It may seem to be injustice for John, but God's justice is not attained only in this life. There is another life to come, and that is after the resurrection all people will be resurrected.

John 5:28-29

Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

That is when justice will be served. So we must not make it sound unjust in our mind if things that are evil happen to people who are good and things that are good happen to people who are evil. There is a declaration of God in the Bible that, evil people may win, evil people may prosper, but it will not be long lasting.

Job 20:4-5

Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth, That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?

The wicked may prosper, but only for a while and all the evil the righteous faced, God will judge.

Jesus said,

blessed be ye poor, for yours is the Kingdom of God. Blessed are ye that hunger now for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now for ye shall laugh. Blessed are ye when man shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil for the son of man's sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven, for in the like manner the their fathers unto the prophets.

From the scripture above, we see that there are blessings awaiting those who are hated by men, persecuted and cheated, God will reward them.

You are right brother. Good things do not happen to bad people only, it does happen to good people also. There may be times that the storm will come and even the evil doers also have a feel of it. As far as we are all living in this world, we will all have a feel of the good and bad times. It doesn't mean God has forsaken His own but a time will come where we will have everlasting joy, peace and eternal life with Him in heaven.
