Thanks be to God for yet another inspiring lesson from our mass indoctrination. Bro Eli took his time to explain to us how we should live as believers and the characters expected of us as believers. The lesson I learn are what I've highlighted below.
The first lesson is forgiveness.Forgiveness is key,we as believers are to forgive our fellow men whenever they wrong us. This is how we show we are Christian's. We should avoid lawsuits as much as possible. As soon as we became believer,we became one in Christ,we now settle our differences in a more unique way and not in the way the world do.
1 Cor.1:10 enjoined all believer to live in such a way that we don't allow division that tears the church apart. We are to speak one language. The primary language of fellowship is Love. We are to love one another and ensure that this love is not limited to those in the household of faith but to others who are without.
We are to assist those who don't have even in the church according to James injunction,you're to help in any way you can. Do good to them.The very fist commandment is to love God and then our fellowmen.This is what is referred to as the true church in the Bible and we are identify by our acts.
1john 3:18 enjoined us not to love in word nor in tongues but in deed and in truth. Good is something that should be done to all especially to those in the household of faith. We are also to love our enemies just like God our Father who send rain to both the just and the unjust. Even Paul said that he became all things to all men so that he could win them into the faith.
We are not to allow strife not quarel with our fellow men. Love is not envious and it also suffers long,doesn't seek it own, doesn't behave unseemingly,doesn't provoke, doesn't promote evil,nor find fault. It means it doesn't take account of the evil of our fellow men. Doesn't rejoice in iniquity,it very patient and calm,enduring all things. These are the attribute of someone who claims he or she has love. Love never fail! All these are found in the book of 1Cor.13.
We are to love God first and then our neighbors and lastly our enemies because Christ commanded it.Heb 13:1 says let brotherly love continue. We should ensure it not seasonal,it should abide. 1Peter 2:17. Honour all men, love the brotherhood and fear God,also do well to honour the Kings.. in honouring all men,you must take respect everyone both young and old,servant and slave alike. As parent honour your children by respecting their decisions.
By honouring the king we mean respect those in government and authority. The scripture enjoins all believers to be subject to authority.
1Tim2:1-3 enjoins us as believers to pray for those in authority and not curse them even when they are not doing too well for this is good and acceptable to God so that we can lead a good live. It is wrong then to join movement that goes against the government. Thanks for reading through.
