There are false prophet among us so we are ought to stick to the teachings of Christ which can be found in the Holy Scriptures. We should let the bible be our guide to the truth.
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord but the prayer of the upright man is the pleases Living God.
Matthew 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking
Prayer is a private communication between man and God but not to show to people. It is prohibited to show your prayers to men.
We should forgive others before praying. If we forgive others, God will also forgive us our sins.
It is good to bow down before God when praying and worshiping. Kneeling down is more respectable way of praying to God.
Women should covered their head and men should not cover their head when praying.
1Corinthians 11:4 Every man praying or prophesying, having [his] head covered, dishonoureth his head.
1Corinthians 11:5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with [her] head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
1Corinthians 11:7 For a man indeed ought not to cover [his] head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
