Hello Mcgi family! I believe everyone is doing fine, I salute Everyone in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and I thank God for today sermon.
Key points and what I learnt
Psalms 2 vs 7
I will declare the decree,the lord hath said unto me, thou art thy son: this day have I begotten thee.
We were taught that there's only one God and there's No divinity in Christ, the word begotten from the Greek words ghen-nah-o means to procreate, regenerate or born while the Hebrew words yaw-lad means to Bear. Christ was brought to existence by one originator which is God and he wasn't glorified by himself but by God.
Act 20 vs 28
We were taught in this scripture that Christ preaches the church of God so those that were given to Christ will remain under the church of God. The church is of the father, it is the Church of God and christ purchase it. And in Isaiah 43 vs 7 we were taught in the scripture that those called by his name are "his" and should be called by his name.
- I learnt that the household of God take his name from God.
- I learnt that the household of God on Earth is called the church.
What is the name of the church?
Matthew 16 vs 17 -18
And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gate of hell shall not prevail against it.
We were taught in this scripture that it is not flesh and blood that reveal to Peter but God in heaven and the knowledge of Peter didn't come from Christ is the son of God but from the father
"I will build my church" signifies the father speaking and the rock foundation of the church is christ. In that scripture the father is the first person, Peter the second and rock is christ.
And it's God who will build the church but christ is an instrument. Christ said I will build my church but it was God speaking through christ.
- I learnt that the church is build by God and it's called the house of God just as its said in Hebrew 3 vs 4
- I learnt that the owner of the church is the father so it's officially called church of God because God built it and Christ is the Christ of God.
- I learnt that the name of the church is called the church of God not the church of christ.
Luke 9 vs 20
He said unto them, but whom say yes that I am? Peter answering said,The Christ of God.
We were taught in this scripture that Christ is of God, the head is the church, the body is the church and God is the church. The body and spirit of man belongs to God, the head goes with the body says in 1corinthians 6 vs 20
- I learnt that when Christ said I will build my church it's the word of God been fulfilled.
