Hello everyone,
I am here to contribute to the question "Is there punishment for those who mistranslated the Bible".
God's word is supreme and would want no man to add or subtract from His Word to mislead people. Most people twist the truth to satisfy their current reality but God frowns against those who add or subtract from His Word - Bible.
But if someone is found guilty, it is left for God to punish him the way that suits him. We must not Question God .God has his own way in dealing with such people
Let's read Romans 9:20 "But who are you, my friend, to talk back to God? A clay pot does not ask the man who made it, "Why did you make me like this?"
Revelation 22:18-19 "I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll.
And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll".
Taking away from God's Word is taking away another personality of God and God doesn't want that. You can't add to it too because God doesn't need our help.
2 Samuel 6:3-8 and in 1 Chronicles 13:6-12 tells the account of a man who tried to protect the ark of God and died as a consequence.
Before He formed us, He knew us. Before we came to being, He predestinated us and it would be a huge misconduct to try to help God or take away from His Word.
There are curses already; it is not an Instant physical death but it is curse that will eventually happen to that man, and it might take a long time for it to manifest and that's due to His mercy talking, hoping the person would come to repentance.
So brethren, Yes ! punishment awaits any man who mistranslated the Bible.
Thank you for reading.
