Knowing the future. MCGI Topic Review

Knowing the future is something we all want to do. We want to know what happens to us, our family, and the world in general. The Bible has a lot to say about this.

God knows what is going to happen in our lives (Jeremiah 29:11). He has a plan for us. He is all-knowing and all-powerful. God is good all the time (Psalm 139:1-6, Romans 8:28). But we do have a choice to make. Our actions and choices have consequences. Our decisions can either go along with God's plans, or against them (Deuteronomy 30:19, Proverbs 3:5-6).

We are warned by the Bible not to learn about the future through pagan or occult means (Leviticus 19:31, Deuteronomy 18:10-12). Instead, we are told to seek God's guidance through prayer, meditation on the Bible, and listening to the Holy Spirit (Psalm 119:105, John 16:13).

We should be more focused on our relationship with God than knowing the future. In the end, knowing the future is not as important as knowing God and trusting Him. Paul said, "For I know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). If we focus on having a relationship with God and living according to His Word, we will be able to face the future with confidence and hope."
