Why Is There Evil? The Existence of Evil in the World In spite of civilization's progress and people's efforts to do good, evil remains. The Bible provides clues to this riddle.
The Bible teaches that evil entered into the world through the rebellion of humanity against God. Genesis 3:1-7 which describes the fall of Adam and Eve as they decided to disregard the command of God. This act of rebellion brought sin and evil into this world.
Evil is, of course, also the result of humanity's sinful nature — which the Bible also speaks to. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23 KJV) Others are completely incapable of war and evil; they explain it with lust, bloodlust, and the sinful nature of the human.
In spite of all the evil, the Bible gives hope. God is not a distant and indifferent spectator of the evil in the world. Rather, He is redeeming and restoring creation. Revelation 21:4 says, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. He will wipe every tear from their eyes.
