What does the Bible say about the military?

Here is my contribution on this subject.
The military is for the sole purpose of ensuring protection and defense for the masses.

Jesus Christ in Luke3:14 And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.

Jesus wasn’t against the soldiers, he only said they should do violence to no man. He wasn’t in any way speaking against the military.

Bro Eli mentioned that for someone to view the military as people who just kill is being myopic.

According to 2peter 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old
