In response to the above question:

John 14:12
[12]Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Time element is the greater works Christ meant in verse 12.
What Christ meant was that we will have more time to do good works not that we will be greater than him.
Philippians 2:13
[13]For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
It is not a good interpretation to say our righteousness is like filthy rags, of u do it in the righteousness of God. If the thief had another time or more days he would have done more good works.
Christ want us to do good works as long as we are alive. It is our good works that will qualify us to inherit eternal life.
The good work you do as a man of God is not filthy rags before God. To do God's will Christ will have to help you.
