In response to the above question:
15:05:2021.

In as much as you have free hands and free feet, not nailed to the cross like the thief on the cross, you must do good works.
Romans 2:13
[13](For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

[17]So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Doing good works can be a way to salvation. Helping the needy is fulfilling God's righteousness.
We have to help other in Building their faith through our good works
1 Timothy 4:10
[10]For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
Those who knows good works and fail to do it also will have their reward.

Matthew 25:41-45
[41]Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
[42]For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
[43]I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
[44]Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
[45]Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
