It is an honour and privilege to have this opportunity to share with you what I have learned on the topic, "Obedience to God's will"
Bro Eli emphasized that following God's commandments is a crucial aspect of being in God's favour and receiving His guidance and love. In order to understand God's will for our lives, we must look to His commandments and laws, which are expressed to us through the Bible. As Ecclesiastes 12:13 states, the whole duty of man is to fear God and keep His commandments.
Bro Eli further explains that the will of God is found in His commandments, and it is through obeying His commandments that we can come under His care and compassion. As expressed in Psalm 40:8,
I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
This verse highlights the importance of finding joy in obeying God's will and having His law within our hearts.
Moreover, Bro Eli emphasizes the significance of following the commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ, especially those found in the New Testament. Jesus Himself says in Matthew 28:20,
Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you, and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.
This statement reinforces the idea that following Jesus' teachings is a vital part of being in God's favor and receiving His love and guidance.
In order to enter into the Kingdom of heaven, we must not only pray or meditate, but we must also do the will of God. As stated in Matthew 7:21,
Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
This verse emphasizes the importance of putting our faith into action and obeying God's commandments in order to receive eternal salvation.
Finally, Bro Eli teaches that if we love God, we will keep His commandments and His teachings. As John 14:23 states,
Jesus answered and said to him, 'If a man loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him.
This verse highlights the importance of love in obeying God's commandments and the rewards that come with doing so.
In essence, Bro Eli stresses the importance of following God's commandments and obeying His will in order to receive His love and guidance. It is through obeying Jesus' teachings and putting our faith into action that we can enter into the Kingdom of heaven and dwell in God's presence.
