On what is your service to him hanging?

What would you do if your answer takes longer than expected or it never comes?

when your service and faithfulness to God is dependent on what you want him to do for you, you easily get discouraged and start questioning him when the answers to your prayer lingers or never comes, but when you service and faithfulness to God almighty is based on who God is then regardless of what you go through or how long it takes your answer to come you never stops serving him or starts questioning his existence.

I've seen people give ip the faith because they never had what they prayed. I've also seen people get so mad at God and start questioning his word and his existence because unpleasant circumstances of life that they thought their being a Christian have exempted them from suddenly happens to them without any prior warning. And this led me to ask you this question to today: on what is your service and faithfulness to him based?

What if God never answers your prayer or gives you that thing that you badly desire, what if circumstances of life beyong your control overwhelm you and you felt all alone, would you still serve him and be faithful to him?

Would you say like Mr Job: "though he slays me, yet will i still praise him..." in the period of your life when things don't seem to be working despite praying earnestly for a turnaround?

Listen, if your service and faithfulness to God is dependent on what you want him to do for you, then you need to sit down and think again because whether you're faithful to God or not, whatever God does for you is because of his mercy, not because you deserve it or has earned it.

So learn to serve God for who he is, not for what you want him to do for you because you would easily get discouraged and lose your faith if your major reason for being faithful to him and working in his vineyard is because of what you want him to do for you.
