Searching for God | The Old Path
Scriptures: John 12:30-32, John 3:14, John 5:20, 2 Corinthians 4:4
John 12:30 - Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
31 - Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
32 - And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
After the ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ, He didn't leave us all by ourselves. Although He is not present with us physically, he dwells in us spiritually. The last verse made us know that a greater number of people are actually closer to God as He ascended than when He was still on the earth.
Matthew 28:19 - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 - Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
This scripture gives us the assurance that Christ is with us. It completely wrong to think that Christ departed from us after He left this earth and went to heaven. God's presence is still with us. If God wasn't actually with us a lot of things would've gone haywire. Some of the things we are seeing now would be nothing compared to if Christ wasn't with us.
We need to live with a consciousness that there is actually a God present in this earth and rules over the affairs of men. He sees us and watches over us. Even though we cannot see Him physically, it doesn't change the fact that He is present.
