Learning how to forgive | The Old Path (My Review)

Bible references: Matthew 6:14–15, Matthew 5:7, Ecclesiastes 7:20

One of the hardest things to do is to forgive. There are many people who's actions are designed specifically to hurt you. Your response to such people is to forgive. As Christians, we should do away with the mentality of an eye for an eye. We should have a heart of forgiveness.

Even when people who offended us don't apologize to us and seek for our forgiveness, we should still forgive them anyway.

Matthew 6:14 - For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 - But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

How do we expect God to forgive us when we find it difficult to do so to the people that hurt us? God knew that we would sure encounter people who will do us bad, and that's why He said that we should forgive them of their trespasses.
Whatever the case may be, it is never to big to be forgiven.

One of the reasons God will show us mercy and forgive us no matter how mighty our sins are is if we are willing to forgive others. Let's hold no one to heart. Let's learn to forgive and also forget.

Sort:

Forgiveness for everyone that offends us is basically one of the tenets of Christianity, Christ did it on the Cross, He forgave the same people who had him crucified.
We are Christlike in nature!
