Hello everyone. We commence a new week on the mass indoctrination program. As humans, it is very common of us to make promises. Most times we make this promises to people but fail to keep them. This is not a right thing to do. It is even more unacceptable when we make promises to God or vows but end up not keeping them.

Ecclesiastes 5:4 - When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
5 - Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

God doesn't derive joy in dealing with people who defer to redeem their vows. We make a costly mistake by making a vow unto God and then not fulfill it. Any vow we make that God is involved in, be it monetary or marital, God expects us to stick to it. A vow is like an oath. We know what happens when someone makes a oath and defers from it. It can be catastrophic.

Today's teaching enlightens us on the importance of vows to God. It is a very critical matter as far as God is concerned. Whenever we are making a vow, we should bear in mind the implications of not keeping them.
