Scriptures: Matthew 6:7, James 5:16, Isaiah 65:24, Proverbs 28:13
We venture into a new week in the Indoctrination series. One of the things we learned in today's session is the hindrance that sin can cause for someone.
Proverbs 28:13 - He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
A lot of us want prosperity. Basically, everybody wants good for themselves and would love to prosper. But one major reason why people don't prosper is because they indulge in sin and refuse to give it up. There's is no honor in holding unto sin. Sin creates a barrier between us and God, that is why prayers end up being unanswered sometimes.
Sin can also stand in the way of our healing.
James 5:16 - Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
We come across instances in the bible whereby Jesus healed people and told them to go and sin no more. This means that the sin of a man can also affect him health wise. We need to be in right standing with God whenever we pray.
The sin of man is what hinders the acceptance of prayers
We should try to wash sins away out of our lives
As we are learning from the doctrines, it is helping us in serving God rightly
Let us avoid vain repetitions during our prayers
When we pray according to the doctrines of Jesus, God will answer us
We must learn to always confess our sins before God, so we can be forgiven.
