This write up are my knowledge and that of my husband who is pastor.
Firstly what do we mean by contentment? (1timothy 6;1_21)In my own little way it means being happy despite your situation in life, also a position of satisfaction, not necessarily because one possesses everything needed in life but because we are comforted in God knowing that all things work together for good through the love of God for us.(1st John 2:25_17 says love not the world, mother the things that are in the world. If any love the world the world, the love of the Father is not in him). When Christian are desirous of the transient worldly things, they lose heavenly values.
My candict advice to employee;
Permit me to use Paul in this case, Paul wrote to Timothy about servants relationship with their masters. God expect that if one finds himself as a servant(employee) at a particular time he should discharge the tasks given to him instead of grumpy.
Serving today dose not mean you will serve till enternity.
God is preparing a better place for you all you need to do is to serve diligence. Remember Jeosph started as a servant but ended as a prime Minister.
"Seest thou a man diligent in his business? Shall stand before Kings and not before mean man(prov. 22;29) . Now a days Christian would rather patronize non Christian because of the negligence of most Christian in their business.
Permit me to say that we are now leaving in the world that we love money more than God. Matt 6;32 ' for after all these things do the Gentiles seek' for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Yes money is useful in the serveral ways, Our Father who is in heaven knows that we have need of these things. The love of material things makes us to lose the intimate relationship we are supposed to have with God .
None of us being anxious can add a cubit to our stature. Believers are expected to be content with what we have therefore if financially need should arise we should look into God to provide, being anxious, we destroy ourselves gradually, please let us be content with that which we have as we continue to look up to God.
Brethren, we should not run after the things of this world but rather follow after righteousness, Faith, Love, godliness, we should fight the good fight of faith to the end, and be satisfied with the fact that we are children of God.
In conclusion, who desire to be rich, do not be high minded, do not trust in your riches, but in the living God, rather be rich in good words: also ready to distribute willing to communicate.lay up for your treasure in heaven simply lets us employ legitimate means to acquire wealth.
We should not put our trust in material things.
