Addiction
I came to understand a lot from today’s live zoom meeting and this made me have a reflection of my life.
Are there things that I am addicted to?
Are they ungodly?
How do I spend my time?
Do I seek God first?
I really had to think about this and finally as bro elisoriano was teaching he made a statement and he said as Christians we should always first thing first seek God to guide our ways and direction and what does this mean? This means that once God is allowed to guide our ways definitely we would be free from all shackles of addiction. God can do all things and in some Bible verses I got to personally understand the points which I want to share with you all.
Addiction has eaten into a lot of people and by God's mercy we can be free from drug addiction, food addiction and other addiction which has eaten into us.
Proverbs 16.9 I had to understand in this scripture that God will always direct our paths from sin. For example I had a very bad addiction in the past yrs and this was the addiction of pornography then I asked God please save me from the shackles of immorality and pornography, I fasted about this and over time I felt a burden or will I say a spirit out of me and today I feel free. Today’s preaching really made me reflect my life and it made me know that the heart of man will always want it’s own way because of the earthly flesh but once we seek God first we will definitely be made new.
We have to submit ourselves to God because he is the only one who could help us. This is the very first thing to do.
In Proverbs 16:9 it also made me learn and understand that Gods words will always direct our steps once we as Christians submit ourselves to God almighty.
Reflection of the week
What are the important points I have learned from God's words discussed in the zoom meeting?
This Bible study has taught me that in everything we do, we must make a first step to submit ourselves to God almighty, with his direction we as Christians will never derail from the right way.my old beliefs was improved in the area of seeking God first before any decision. Bro Eli taught us to seek God first in order to direct our paths away from sin.
Today's Bible study on zoom has made me seek God first in whatever I put my hands on, through daily prayers and therefore seeking God's direction to lead me from sinning while doing my daily activities.
The teachings of the Lord has made me understand that no matter what sin you've committed we can always return to the Lord and once we allow God's directions in our lives we'd never remain the same again.
