Biblically, a man is given the legal right to sleep with a woman only if they have been married. It's not right for a man and a woman to sleep together when they are not married. Even if we are in a relationship, as long as we are not married, we ought to keep to ourselves.
There could be some circumstances whereby a person may be in need of a place to pass the night and the place available to spend the night may be long someone of the opposite sex. In that case, it is understandable as long as nothing transpires between them.
But if that's not the case, it is not advisable to lie with someone of the opposite sex so as to avoid temptation. Even if you happen to be in a relationship, as long as you are not married, it is not important that you keep the necessary distance between both of you.
When Joseph in the bible, the earthly father of Jesus, was betrothed to Mary, he never touched her throughout their courtship. That's why he was shocked when he found out she was pregnant, because he never remembered having any sexual affair with her. Joseph new that wasn't the right thing to do.
But in our world today, people have sexual relations out side the confine of marriage, and it has become a very casual thing. This is highly forbidden in the sight of God. Sexual affairs are strictly meant for those who are married.
1 Corinthians 7:1 - Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
2 - Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
God initiated married so that fornication could be avoided. Even though a lot of people in the world today practice extramarital affairs and they have made it to look normal, that does not deny the fact that it is wrong. We ought to abstain from such path.
This is a form of correction to alot of people who indulge in such activities and see it as something that is normal. Thank you for sharing this.
