We see alot of teachers today to claim to teach God's word. We must be careful as to which teachings we listen to and accept. Not every teaching we hear is in accordance to the doctrines of our Lord Jesus.
1 Timothy 6:3 - If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
1 Timothy 6:4 - He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
Some people teach the word of God without indepth understanding of what they are actually teaching. It is important to seek counsel concerning the word of God for better understanding should incase we are sharing it with other people we know the fully well what we are teaching them.
Jesus Himself, when He was still young, went to the temples and did some studying before He went on to people to preach the Word of His father.
We also see how Paul who was formerly a Jew after being converted went on to do the Lord's work.
Galatians 1:13 - For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it
After Paul was being converted, He went under the Leadership of Barnabas, who taught him everything he needed to know to commence his ministry. The word of the is the first step for a person to step into the Christian faith. After that, the next thing is baptism, as instructed by Christ in the book of Matthew 28:19-20.
