There's no problem that can ever be bigger than God. However, what hinders our prayers to be answered is our sin. Sin is a major barrier between us and answers to our prayers from God. Some people unknowingly indulge in certain sins while they pray and begin to wonder as to why they are not getting answers to their prayers.
While some intentionally commit sins and still expect to receive from God. Such a thing can never be possible. One thing God can never tolerate is sin. It is his earnest desire to grant us that which we wish for, but restrict Him from doing so when we participate in sinful acts.
One of the ways to get rid of sin is to admit the fact that we have done that which is wrong. Another way is bringing it to light. We should expose our sins if we truly desire to have ourselves detached from them.
When we hide our sins, we give them power over us. Sin always walk in darkness. Wherever you see sin, you see darkness. Covering up your sins is never a wise thing to do.
Proverbs 28:13 - He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
God is always ready to show us mercy and forgive us of all our trespasses if we are willing to forsake them and return to Him. The devil deceives people into thinking that there are benefits of sinning, but of a truth there really is none. Sin causes more harm than good to our spiritual health. We shouldn't let sin stand in the way of us receiving from God.
