There's is no shortcut to living the Christian life and there is no alternative to serving God. There is no alternative to obeying God. Anytime you come to God saying "Lord, I am willing" or "Lord, I am obedient", what you are simply saying is Lord, I am ready for the process.
Obedience means process. If you are not ready to go through the process, you will not have the end result. Whatever you want to achieve in life can be done through faith and obedience.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 - Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Our fellowship with the Lord and daily life with God needs faith and obedience. Most Christians don't believe that God is trustworthy, that is why they can't believe what He said in his word.
Matthew 28:20 - Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Some Christians try to obey God without exercising faith while some try to exercise faith without obedience to His word, which is what Christ commanded that his disciples convey nations that they may observe. We should not just have faith, we ought to take steps as well and that is obedience.
