Why do people die? -Part 1. The Old Path Bible Study

in MCGI Cares Hive2 years ago

Hello lovelies,

Death is a reality that we all have to face at some point in our lives. It is a subject that many people fear and do not like to talk about. However, the Bible teaches us that death is not an evil thing but rather an appointment with God. Our death is a reminder that there is a God who is greater than us and that we are not immortal.

In 1 Timothy 6:16, it is written, "Who only have immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach, unto, whom no man had seen nor can see, to whom be honor and power everlasting." This verse tells us that only God has immortality and will never die. It is a fact that every human being must accept that we will die one day. It is appointed for man to die once and face judgment, as stated in Hebrews 9:27.

Our death is a reminder that there is a God who owns our lives and that we must live a righteous life before Him. We must obey His commandments and do the good works that He has ordained for us. The Bible tells us that we have no power over the spirit to retain it, nor the power to delay death. Ecclesiastes 8:8 says, "There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death." This verse reminds us that our existence is dependent on God, and we owe our being to Him.

In Acts 17:28, it is written, "For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring." This verse tells us that our existence is in God, and if He wills it, we live. Our death is a reminder that we have lived long enough and that God has given us enough chances to serve Him, to know Him, to follow Him, and to obey Him.

The fear of death is often rooted in the fear of the unknown, the fear of judgment, and the fear of pain. However, if we know and follow God's ways, death is not something to be feared. The death of Jesus Christ teaches us that we will inevitably face judgment, but His resurrection gives us hope that we too will rise again. Therefore, death is a reminder of the existence of God and an opportunity to live a righteous life before Him.

Proverbs 10:27 says, "The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened." This verse reminds us that the fear of the Lord can prolong our days, but the years of the wicked will be shortened. Therefore, if we fear God and obey His commandments, we can live a longer and more fulfilling life.

Death is a reality that we must accept, but it is not something to be feared if we know and follow God's ways. Our death is a reminder that there is a God who owns our lives and that we must live a righteous life before Him. We owe our existence to God, and He has given us enough chances to serve Him. Let us fear God and obey His commandments so that we may live a long and fulfilling life.
