Part 2. What is the Faith of the Thief on the cross?

in MCGI Cares Hive4 years ago

If you are doing God's righteousness will it be as filthy rag?
Matthew 6:33 KJV
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
This text shows that our Righteousness is only valuable before God if we embrace His own kind of righteousness.
We are to seek His Righteousness and not our own righteousness. Because there is a major disparity between the righteousness of God and that of man.
How does God regard a man who practice his own kind of righteousness.
Luke 16:15 KJV
And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
According to Luke our righteousness is an abomination before God. This verse of the Bible identifies a major difference in what kind of righteousness we choose to practice or accept, is it man or God kind of righteousness.
Ephesians 6:6 KJV
Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
Self righteousness will make you a men pleaser and God pleaser.
There are some religious leaders who said we should not do good work again or aim at being righteous, because if you even do good works they are like filthy rags. that is a recklessness interpretation of God's word. It is not the truth and can never be true. Just like the thief on the cross who was saved by faith. Although he will have to die.
Mark 15:32 KJV
Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.
