Hello, I'm Marvin, and I want to tell you about two things I love: going to new places and convincing people to like the stuff I promote. It might sound strange, but these two things have been a big part of my work life.
Imagine this: I really enjoy convincing people to buy things, even if I don't know if they'll actually buy them. It's a challenge that I find exciting and it helps me become more confident and persistent.
This passion of mine started when I left my regular job. I joined a big Canadian company called WWI (Wholesale Warehouse Industry) that had a branch in the Philippines. I was really excited to learn their simple but effective way of selling things.
Their approach motivated me. They said it was "The World's Greatest Opportunity." They sold products at very low prices and I got to sell them without needing to invest any money upfront. They taught me how to do it.
Think of this like a ladder with three steps:
Selling: This is the main part of what the company does. It's about selling and marketing. We used a strategy with 5 steps for convincing people, and another 8 steps for good work habits. There's also something called the Law of Averages, which I won't get into now.
Leading: After getting good at selling and making money, I moved to the second step. This is about becoming a leader and helping others do what I do. I aimed to help five new people become successful like me. More leaders meant more success.
Managing: Once those new leaders were doing well, I moved to the third step. This was about managing the business. It involved things like keeping track of inventory (products), hiring people, finding good places to do business, and handling the everyday stuff. I also had to lead meetings.
The Story Continues:
I didn't become a manager in that company, but I learned a lot. I even got to go to Thailand for a Rest & Recreation event.
I'm not sure if that company is still around, but it had a big impact on how I grew as a person and in my career. I learned to set big goals, work hard, share what I know, and trust others.
It's also important to stay positive, keep improving, be on time, and do what's expected of you.
What I'm trying to say is that my biggest interest in life is learning new things. Life is a journey of discovery, and while we can't predict the future, one thing is certain: if you bring value to the world, good things will come your way.
