What's a Brawl?
¿Qué es una Brawl?
Quoting the Whitepaper:
"Brawls are large-scale tournaments in which Guilds fight together against other Guild, competing to earn Crowns and racing to level their Arenas."

"Las Brawls son torneos a gran escala en los que los gremios luchan juntos contra otros gremios, compitiendo para ganar coronas y compitiendo para nivelar sus arenas."
10 Guilds against 10 guilds.
It works similar to the anytime tournament format.
There's a few differences from regular ranked or tournament matches though!
- Special Gladiator cards can be used here.
- Instead of DEC rewards, Merits are earned here.
- Instead of rating increase, placements earn the guild Crowns.
- Similar to plots of land, there are still more benefits and rewards on the way!
- No entry costs.
- New brawls begin every 5 days.
- Rewards and gameplay interact with Barracks and Shop buildings.

So why go through all of this? Why not stick to your DEC grind and let the other players handle it?
Here's a simplified list of how this affects you and your guild:

- Merits: To be clear, the shop doesn't sell cards or items you could trade for credits, DEC etc... Check out this explanation of Guild Stores by @cryptomancer for information on all the items and benefits currently available. In short, this allows you to unlock things that will allow you to perform better in Brawls, such as Gladiator cards.

- Crowns: This doesn't exactly directly affect you, but allows for the Guild Leader to spend them on various upgrades. Every level 2 and higher upgrade, other than on the Guild hall, require Crowns! What does this mean? Higher level buildings means more benefits, more earnings, larger brawls and more! This is an essential part of your guild's growth.
- Coronas: esto no te afecta exactamente a ti, pero permite que el Líder del Gremio las gaste en varias actualizaciones. ¡Cada actualización de nivel 2 y superior, excepto en el salón del gremio, requiere coronas! ¿Qué significa esto? ¡Los edificios de mayor nivel significan más beneficios, más ganancias, peleas más grandes y más! - SPS: (Future Update) There are plans for SPS rewards to be implemented into Brawls at a later time. Yet another reason to start collecting Crowns and Merits today, so that you can get a head start once future benefits such as this begin.
- SPS: (Actualización futura) Hay planes para que las recompensas de SPS se implementen en Brawls en un momento posterior. Otra razón más para comenzar a recolectar coronas y méritos hoy, de modo que pueda tener una ventaja una vez que comiencen los beneficios futuros como este.
- Team engagement and practice: Not only will this help you connect more with your team, but you'll also be getting some training in for your usual Ranked play!

Oversimplified: Ranked Battles benefit only you, Brawls benefit your whole guild.
So are they worth taking part in if you have the option? Absolutely!
