Unfortunately today I will not be able to show you photos of all my Schlumbergera and Rhipsalidopsis cacti, I could not find them.
So I'll show you some of them.
The Schlumbergera cactus or zygocactus is also called (as you know) the Christmas cactus, and this name itself already indicates that it blooms at Christmas.
What is especially pleasing during this period of the year.
And the Rhipsalidopsis cactus is also called the Easter cactus, which again says that it blooms at Easter.
Schlumbergera and Rhipsalidopsis cacti are not at all capricious in their care.
In the summer I give them a warm shower, they love it very much. Frequent spraying is also desirable.
Schlumbergera and Rhipsalidopsis are very sensitive during the bud stage.
Therefore, at this time it is undesirable to turn the pot or rearrange it to another place.
As for Rhipsalidopsis, here is what information I found about him on the Internet:
"The history of the emergence of the genus Rhipsalidopsis is rather complicated. The Easter cactus has experienced a number of scientific misconceptions. When the first plant species was first discovered and described (in 1884), it was classified as Epiphyllum, later renamed as Schlumberger, further transferred to the genus Rhipsalis, later to Epiphilopsis, Ripsalidopsis and then Hathiora. After numerous changes in taxonomy, cacti have recently been returned to the genus Schlumbergera, although they are still called Ripsalidopsis, more rarely Hathiora."
It's all very confusing, isn't it?
I call his "Easter Cactus"
The photos I were taken with a Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L tablet
The difference to me is just the flowers
I need to sign them, because when they finish flowering, I don’t remember which one is which 😉
❤❤❤❤❤
