The flowering of my Gymnocalycium

Today I will show you pictures of one of my Gymnocalyciums called Gymnocalycium mihanovichii Stenogonum.

No, he is green not because he is angry with me or he doesn’t like something, he is so unusual and beautiful by nature :-)

This species was found in Paraguay.

Gymnocalycium mihanovichii Stenogonum is spherical, up to 6 cm in diameter.
And the color of this "ball" is simply amazing, its color varies from green-red to green-brown.

In caring for him, capriciousness was not found :-)

What does he like?
As I noticed, he avoids direct sunlight in summer and tries to "slip away" to where there is light shade.

This handsome man also likes slightly acidic soil with the addition of peat.

How do I acidify the soil?
a pinch of citric acid per 1 liter. water.
I don't know how often to do this, I acidify once a year.

The photos I were taken with a Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L tablet

Our soil is naturally acidic so if plants need a more alkaline soil, I add crushed eggshells. I read that soils in Cyprus are neutral to alkaline but most people acidify soils with vinegar although citric acid will work too. Looks like you are doing it right anyway :)

Many thanks!

How's your hand, hope it's good!?

A very unique and beautiful flower. 👍

Thank you very much!
