Beautiful Sunday: My Culture my Heritage ( Igbo Nigeria)

Hello, friends how are you doing in today's #SublimeSunday as it is been initiated by @ace108. To be honest with you, this is the first time am posting this kind of images here just to keep life moving and as well gain more experience about tradition and nature as well, but today is #beautifulsunday.
Well, despite not being available on yesterday's Sunday culture jubilation of my village, i still followed up the celebration through social media.
Let me tell you a little story about this culture. This is known as Afikpo North (Ehugbo) Ebonyi State Nigeria day. most people from my village who are not within the village normally come back just to witness this day and yesterday 4th December mark the day. This is celebrated every year and people are always happy being alive to witness another year's festive celebration known as the traditional Christmas. They are not harmful as meant for fun and celebration.

The above image is known as Agbogo Njenje. The agbogo njenje is known as the most beautiful masquerade among others and is popularly known for its beautiful woman-cat walking movement style just to prove her beauty to people watching her. I can tell you boldly that i love seeing the agbogo njenje every year.

This is known as the small njenje. This particular njenje is also known for its beautiful movement style depending on the choice it chooses to walk. The one you are seeing is dressed as husband and wife and throughout the day they are meant to walk around the village as husband and wife with their lovely cat walking movement.

The is known as Otugu and is among the beautiful masquerade within the village but the only difference from njenje is that they are allowed to be played with by every member of my village and others around the world. Their own sign of joy is through checking their hands and leg to bring out a sound known for otugu style.

This particular masquerade is known as Egede and is known to be strong and fit beyond others. This masquerade believes he can do anything at any time because of his physical and spiritual strength. The egede is also known for running the whole village throughout the whole day without stopping. Egede could be harmful if you look for his trouble but can be playful if you want. Egede is ready to give you whatever you want at any time.

This is known as otaakpo and it plays the same role as egede.

This is known as ipko and the masquerade is known for strong and mature men. It could be dangerous and playful at the same time. Its major role is for noise making and defending other masquerades from harm throughout the whole day.

This is generally known as Nkuru Okpo or ABCD is majorly known for playing with children as they will be singing ABCD gbaragba tiete for the masquerade to prove its musical traditional dancing step.

This is popularly known as Chaachaa and is for children and adults. This particular masquerade makes use of a ringing bell on his waist to dance like a good one he is.
