Sublime and Beautiful Sunday

This post is for #SublimeSunday is inspired by @c0ff33a and #BeautifulSunday is initiated by @ace108. and for their challenges I often go for flowers of some sort as I find them kind of sublime and for sure beautiful.

For this week I am sharing a few shots of Water Lillies at Buttonwood Park, a beautiful spot here in New Bedford.

Buttonwood Park is called by some the “crown jewel” of New Bedford’s parks. It’s the largest and most visited public park in the city.
It is 97 Acres and an Oasis of nature with gardens, an arboretum, walking paths, a playground, a zoo, and several ball fields and basketball courts, and last but not least a pond which features in this post.
I find nature pretty amazing and Water Lillies for that category growing on a pond and the lovely whites standing out against the rich greens, the proper name for them is Nymphaeaceae.

Now I say they grow on the water thats not correct of course, well I say of course but i just looked it up and they have roots in the soil at the base of the pond and the leaves and lillies float on the water

And looking across the pond, I love walking along beside it, well those that now me, know I love walks anywhere by any form of water :)

this pond is fairly large at 7-acre (2.8 ha) pond

As you can see there is a good field of lillies on the Pond

Water Lilies make a nice pond beautiful - I love it when most of such a little lake is overgrown with these beautiful flowers 😀

Thanks and indeed I am, I went a little further afield this morning to a place called west Island about half an hour away, and luckily the sunrise was beautiful so a great start to the day

I have been on an early morning walk and had a quite nice sunrise too. Actually, I wanted to take some macros, but in the end it has been one bug only and a few sunrise photos of which one is okay.
The day is hot, but later we might have some thunderstorms around, so I don't know if I'll go for a Sunday ride or not ... I think I'll go anyway - it is only water that falls down from the sky 🌧️🤣

I hope your able to get out for a ride, I think I am done for the day, walked quite a bit on the beach and my legs are reminding me how tiring it can be walking on wet sand LOL

Yep, sitting on the bike is easier than walking on wet sand ... as long as the road doesn't get wet 🤣
I have just got changed and hope I'll stay dry, although I hope to see some storm clouds and maybe a lithning 🌩️
