Blessed Love Reggaejahmin HIVE Community!

Blessed Sunday! Welcome to another JAHMIN Session. The second month is already in its 3rd quarter, my my how the time flies. We gotta keep the fire blazing and raising that vibration while at the the same time being vigilant. There is a lot going on in the world and even on the block itself. And on that note........

Beware of scammers/hackers

There has been an increase of scams on the blockchain recently. Do not click any links claiming to give you free tokens or input your keys to something that sounds too good to be true. Unfortunately scamming appears in places of value, and HIVE has a lot of value. Be vigilant out there in this digital jungle!
If you do get hacked, and they didn’t get your owner key or master password, you can use the owner key to change the other keys and the master password to reveal all the other keys if you don’t remember them. There is something more sophisticated about these hacks I am realizing as some claimed they never clicked any links or input their keys into anything suspicious. Below is how to go about changing your keys in a nutshell. For a more detailed explanation, see this post: https://hive.blog/splinterlands/@royaleagle/how-to-change-your-hive-keys-using-peakd
1. Go to your profile and click the three dots bottom right of your pic and go to the keys and permissions menu.2. Go to change password.Be sure to have your owner key or master password on hand.3. Input your owner key to change all the other keys. Be sure to save everything ( download & print out) and then check the box and click the update keys button.

After that, check to see if the keys work by logging into peakd or hive.blog.

Two of our new members ( and countless other HIVERS) were hacked last week and so @nadiecomoyo made a new account and re-introduced herself. You can read the post here. And then just recently @bjblendah was hacked as well. What I realized is that Blendah did not click any links or input his keys anywhere, but his wifey did. It might be a case of the same Wifi network or where the keys were issued, but I am no cyber security specialist. The thing about these hacks is that it really deters people from wanting to stay on the blockchain but we encourage them to keep on the journey as it has just begun. Fire pon a hacker and a scammer, Karma fi dem! 🔥

WHAT'S JAHMIN' THIS WEEK?

This week in the JAHMIN Session, Mutation album now on Audius, it is great to see independent artistes utilizing the many faces of blockchain tech and also represent reggae music. Give the album a listen, it is short and the tracks are unlike anything you have heard before. Next we have a Jahmin tune from a Suriname artiste by the name of Kater Karma. The song is groovy and even without understand the language, we can catch the vibe and the riddim. On the #dashout tip we have a Japanese bento with all its well laid out sources of nutrients, always love how the rice with the plum in the middle represents the Japanese flag. On the HipHop/ R&B front, did Alicia go to the dark-side with her new album cover pose? Well you tell us after reading this post and listening to this new track featuring Pusha T. In the world of design and CBDCs, the Jamaican digital currency now has a logo but many say no no. The perspective in this post is interesting. And last but not least, the Jamaican Embassy in Japan turns up the vibe with the live in celebration of Jamaica's 60th independence celebration.

You don't need to be in the Caribbean or from it to post in our community. From Ital food to reggae music, Caribbean news and much more is welcome in our community. To learn more about our tags/cultural initiatives, see the following posts: Dashout Sunday, APART, and RJNAS.

Every week I'll select a 20% beneficiary and this week I chose @nivekpro as he was sharing some hot topic news in the space. Even though I made a post about it myself, he went even deeper with the info. News is one of the things that bring many to websites and I see Reggaejahmn being an info highway for the culture.

What is the best way to keep your Crypto and accounts SAFU?

safe all your keys and make a backup on a flash drive.

Awareness on phishing tactics is a must in this day and age of the internet, not just in blockchain. So just mentioning it like you did in this posts helps a lot of people.

Flash drive is a good idea as keeping it on the PC is a vulnerability. I can imagine someone creating some kinda anti hack app on Hive in the near future.

Keeping an extra copy as back up on your pc is not bad, as long as you know how to secure it. In an encrypted rar or zip file for example.

An app can only do so much. As long as people get socially engineered, they will get "hacked". A good existing way to prevent this is two-factor authentication.
