I take the opposite premise. If I had pardon power and a slew of political enemies, I would issue pardons for crimes that they woould specifically claim never did. Pardon Biden for failing to register as a foreign agent. Pardon Fauci for cruelty to animals. Pardon Hillary for cheating on her bar exam. Pardon Milley for impersonating a military officer. Pardon Dick Cheney for incest. Pardon Liz Cheney for carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
What are they going to do? Not accept the pardons because "they didn't commit the crime"?
