I think gameplay wise, the meta hasn't really changed much. It's the game mechanics/tokenomics which have seen big movements.

I believe that to prevent the game from going too stale, a new set which changes things and refreshes the entire lineup ala how Magic The Gathering does it is probably required. 😁
