Hallo HIVERSs.
I am happy today to see new splinterlands official Battle Mage Secrets thumbnail It's kind of oldschool, but I like the new vibe it delivers.
Anyway how are you today? I am getting worse than last week, hard to move my hands and my right eye can't see clearly however I hope you are fine there.
As always, Another week, another Splinterlands post from me. Welcome to my weekly Splinterlands BATTLE MAGE SECRETS challenge. Today we have SILENCED SUMMONERS ruleset as our theme.

This is the ruleset where all summoner in the battle field can not use their ability. So this means there isn't any buff or debuff from them. There could be only 2 approach we can ake we can for this ruleset.
- Getting lower mana summoner, or the lowest mana required summoners. With this approach you will have more mana available for the 6 units you will choose. Hopefully those extra mana could get you the win.
- Use Dragon Summoner. If every summoners are the same due to silenced, Dragon Summoner has one big advantage which is allowing you to have two elements... one of your preference and another one is Dragon Element. How about Lux Vega? well her existence is already a cheat, so lets now discuss that.
Let's see our battle then...
THE BATTLE
This was a Modern Gold league rank battle, and I was using BLACKRRSANTAN, a scholarship account from bulldog1205 the famous streamer. I used this account mostly to play Brawl for JUICE GUILD. Anyway if you are a diamond league player and looking for a good guild to play competitive brawl, please drop us a message. Let's get back to the main business, here were the rulesets we got:
It's Silenced Summoner, so definitely I went to Dragon Summoner. Between fire and Life, I went with Fire because there was a unit there that I believed could bring victory to my line up. That unit was Ferox Defender.
With additional LOST MAGIC ruleset, armor would be very important and FEROX DEFENDER was the best choice to buff your team with extra armor and keeping the armor on.
let see how things go....
- The battle started with both of us buffing up our team and debuffing our opponents.
- My opponent came with 9 Melee Damage, and 1 range damage. It's a combined 10 damage per round.
- My team had 6 Melee damage only.
- It looked like the battle would go long, regarding bot party came with small damage per round.
- Round one was like a clean up for baits. I killed two of their baits, and they killed one of mine..
- Overall how our meta worked were defined finely. They focused on backline sneakers, while my focus was on front line defense.
- Round 3 started with 4 v 3, their side started to take advantages. It's a normal situation regarding their damage per round was higher than my team.
- Round 4 was the turning point. they lost their tank, the Djinn Chwala. Now things started to be ugly on their side.
- Round 5 started with 2 vs 2 condition, however I thought this battle was already settled on this line up. I could not see how their two melee units could kill my Djinn Chwala with the help of Ferox behind.
- asa predicted, they could not do anything after their Djinn Chwala gone. Good Game
CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION
It's an interesting battle we have here. There are some keypoints we can take from it:
1. BOTH OF US WENT WITH DRAGON
That's the fact, both of us picked Quix the Devious and both of us went with Djinn Chwala. Both of us even brought the same sneak atacker, Dhampir Infiltrator. Dragon is definitely preferable during this ruleset.
2. TANK PLAYED GREAT PART
Most meta can work well as long there is a strong tank to support it. In the other words, if the tank fallen, the meta might fall too. This is one of the main reason I like Ferox Defender, he keeps my Djinn Chwala alive longer and ultimtely lead his team to victory.
I do not say my opponent Meta is bad either, but when he lost the tank first, his lost appears sooner.
3. SUPPORT IS ESSENTIAL
Honestly FEROX DEFENDER is not a superstrong unit that rule many battles, however during SILENCED SUMMONER, some card can come up stronger because they have buffs and debuffs which could cover the missing ability from the summoners.
Try to bring a unit who has some buff or debuff. Treat him/her as your summoners. Things might work better than you have predicted before.
