Hello Gamers, How Are You today?
In the last few days some of my friends have been poking me here on HIVE about some new games. Yes recently there are some games are released on HIVE Blockchain, that's a good news for gamers here. Of course not all are great and not all are bad, It's all depends on the gamers prefrence.
Here I would like to share one of them, it is Moon Cart from Arcade Colony. They are affiliated with Splinterlands and I know this one from months ago and honestly during those time I did not bother about it because I haven't seen the game.
I have enough with too many bullshit out there, so many games offer early phase opportunity by buying alpha packs, invest in their tokens, getting founders perks, and so many more. Some of them have ended as failures, I do not like to address it as RUG or SCAM because I know some have tried their best but still fail. Gaming industry is not that easy and friendly as most people assume.
So I wait and forget about this. Last year I saw this thriller and I thought that... Hey Game A did better and they gone now... Game B had something amazing but until today there is no game only some amazing video , Game C.. Game D... and so on.
And finally my wait was ended by some of my friends, such as @rqr4 and @coolguy123 sharing their post about Moon Cart. I think it's ok, lets give it a try. let's do some sneak peak and some trials here.
Playing The Moon Cart For The First Time
Moon Cart run on the Unity game engine. It is the same engine of #Terracore which is on HIVE too, and actyally Unity Engine is a very popular engine and many people from small or individual to some midsize enterprise use this to develop their games.
Let's cut this one short, we are not endorsing Unity Engine here LoL. If you want to jump into the boat directly, here is the link to the game website:
https://moonkarts.arcadecolony.com/play
When I logged in for the first ime, this is what I see, some empty stage with many clickable icons
Without spending many times, I just went directly to single players and I stumbled on this page
It did not need some geniuses to understand what were those. I think everyone can figure that out in a minute. So I tried directly on the start race and this was I got that time:
I needed a Kart, they would not let me to play without Kart. So I came to the marketplace, it is still on the same website but it runs outsite the Unity Engine. here is their website for the marketplace if you are curious about it: https://arcadecolony.com/market
The display is somehow abit similar to Splinterlands market and WOO Market, It was simple and neat, without too many unnecessary accessories. The only problem was that I could not read their speck, their stats, or what the hell were those. So I did the safest bet, bought the cheapest kart.
The cheapest kart was 0,14 dollars, and I paid it using $SCRIPT which I bought from Hive Engine. It's a sneak peek anyway, I do not need to spend big this time, just get the minimum here.
Luckily, we can see their stats after we have them. In my opinion, the display somehow favors on the packs opening, because people get those cards first then they can see what they are and how good or bad those cards. It's not quite friendly for card purchaser like me.
Well this is a homework for the developer anyway. Let's hope they will improve it as the game progresses.
Ok I got back to the race part and this was I got next
LoL. Having a kart and driver are mandatory. Parts, Techs, and Power Ups are optional. So I got the cheapest driver first at this point, so I could see how the race was.
There I got my first driver, Mr Spark. The cheapest one was Luna, a female driver. I chose Spark because he was a male persona, and the price was only differing in $0.01, it did not make any difference.
So Let's Go, I got on my Kart now!!
Here some snapshot I got from my race
you see those item on the road? if you bump them, you get them and they give you some extra rewards. However you can only pick the first four item.
Honestly driving the kart was very difficult. I know I am not that dumb, but seriously, it is hard. maybe because I have a bad stats on the kart?
My Handling was about 48 of 250. Maybe this was one of the reason I could not drive well in the race, I could not move left and right properly as I wanted.
Finally after some struggles on steering wheel, I managed to finish my race... Yay and I got 0 rewards LoL
Single player mode is actually a practice mode that we can use to adjust our settings or check how our kart set will work. It was not designed to give us some earning there.
If we want some earning, as this is play to earn game, we need to do multiplayers
Trying Multiplayer For The First Time
I tried the multiplayer for the first time, the difference was on the bottom right part. We need fuel to run the race and we need to find the match too. So this is PVP battle, not against some AI or bots.
There is a bad and good news here. Let's start with the good news, if you don't have FUEL, you still can do the race however the bad is that if you don't have enough fuel, your rewards will be nulled. So it's up to you if you want to play for free or get some fuel for the rewards.
After we click the rewards, you will land on this page. It seems they set the race up to six participants, but the race liquidity is not liquid here. Maybe not many people know this game can be run now. So I had to wait a few minutes to get some opponent that time.
This was the match up that finally I could get after minutes of race matching.
There my first race, it was a very heavy run... full of freeze, lags and finally crash LoL. The multiplayer mode is not similar to single race. Single race is smooth and easy, multiplayer is very heavy. I do not know if my laptop spec is not enough or my internet connection that was bad.
My Opinion About Moon Cart
Let me be honest here, I do not want to lie because I dislike someone nor due to some votes here. Overall I find this game interesting, because it is a race, arcade or action based, not some TCG, turn based, or idle game that currently overpopulate blockchain gaming everywhere no matter what blockchain those are, including on HIVE too.
So this kind of game should get more appreciation, because this will make HIVE games diverse, not so monotone which everyone building the same static display of game. Don't get me wrong here, I like #RisingStar Game and #Terracore, both idle game but if all game are like them, the gaming world would get bitter.
On the other hand, I will be frankly saying this... Moon Kart is not a groundbreaking game and not even close a Tripple A game. This game is lacking of "WOW" factors, and I really hope the developer will keep improving and updating this game. I am not saying this game is bad, this game is good however there are too many AWESOME and GREAT Racing games out there, so being Good and Decent might feel unacceptable for most Racing Games Players.
And I hope they could improve with the Multiplayer issue. Maybe some liquidity bots might be helpful here, and about the lag and freeze, I will try to figure out whether it is my bad connection, or it is a server issue... I don't know, I hope there is a solution here that can be done.
Ok that's all I can say for today. I might come back and share about packs opening, or maybe if multiplayer becomes more lighter, I will share some of my race too.
meanwhile... Happy racing guys!!
nah ini keren nieh, ga bisa dikurangi nanti hasilnya. hahahah
Good start, you did well except that, the handling needs to be improved.
I guess there are cards for that or there will cars itself with better handling.
I will try to explore further later this week and may need to buy few more packs or some items from the market to have better shot at the game.
maybe I should make a post about packs opening vs buying individual cards. let's see if I could free up my time this weekend for it
Yeah, extending till 1 AM 2 AM like that to get the blog done on daily basis, 9 to 5 job demands more time, so, no option for me too right now.
