The season ended this week, and a new one has started. I'm feeling much better right now because I fished this season better than last season. At a point in the middle of the season I was very frustrated encountering losses upon losses. It was as though the algorithm was pairing me with players way off my league and I was seeing a lot of those legendary cards that made me look like a beginner. I was seeing cards I have never even seen in the market and was wondering whether or not the algorithm thought I was in the championship league and decided to pair me with the top players. However, I was able to finish with 171 wins in 337 games which gives me a win percentage of 50.74% for the whole of last season.
I would say it was fair but I know I can do better if I keep playing. But just like any game is to win more, I would have to spend more on a lot of cards of which I am doing with my glint rewards for the meantime. My card set also has a new look entering into the new season. I got a total of 425 new cards, which included 400 common cards and 25 rare cards. I hope I can get those cards to max level as soon as possible so that I can proceed to getting epic and legendary cards. By the way I noticed that we can now purchase old foil cards directly from the rewards store (Another improvement) It’s as expensive as I imagined, but I hope I can purchase it while it’s still in stock.
Now talking about battles and the rulesets, I have been improving on my strategies lately and becoming more clinical as I have been learning a lot from my losses. Even though those losses are painful (I must admit) they have taught me not to make some setting moves if I must survive in the game and it has helped me a lot especially with the no-rules rule set. I am now getting to understand the importance of positioning my cards especially in the second, fourth and last position. I don’t do it every time, but I do it when I have the cards to play with. For the last position I like putting cards with the ability to attack and defend at the same time. Cards with retaliation abilities are really good here especially if they also have sneak or flying abilities.
In the second position I now prefer to fill it with monsters that have the stun ability alongside the reach ability and with plenty of health. In Fact I like filling the first three positions with monsters that have plenty of health already and I could also add gladiator cards to this list because they become more dangerous as the battle goes on. I tried it a few times and they helped me get a few wins while my opponents (who were better at using it) beat me with those strategies also.
Truth be told the splinterlands game is very unpredictable, but that’s just what makes it fun and if you think you will like to try out all the amazing experiences, feel free to join in here
