Sometimes I wonder how I can win some battles, especially when I go in unprepared and short of everything I would have used on a normal day. If you have ever played a game hoping to lose but somehow winning you would be able to fully relate to the feeling. Although this isn’t the first time such a thing has happened to me, I'm glad it did so I can write about it here lol. I had to rewatch this particular game again because Looking at it only to find myself the winner was kinda strange at the beginning and I needed to confirm whether or not my eyes were not deceiving me. I think at the end of the day, my opponent was just as bad as I was with their selections and I just got lucky.
It was more funny how I didn’t even check the ruleset of the game before choosing my cards. Truth be told, I did not see myself winning one out of ten of the selections I would have taken and the reason is because I don't trust the kind of cards I have right now. I had to divert most of the Dec I was supposed to use to rent cards into other things that appeared more pressing. However, I decided to play a guild brawl with the hope of whiling away time and to also see how I could help my guild only to end up with the unexpected yet pleasant result. I think what killed my opponent's game was the fact that he was wrongly positioning the monsters.
I have always emphasized the essence of positioning cards the right way (for those that follow up well with my post) even without looking at the ruleset, two things I always prioritize in a battle are speed and heath followed by a healing or regenerative ability. This was why I put a gladiator card with triple attack and high speed in first position. I secretly expected that the gladius card would be a hard kill because of its regenerative ability after every kill. Then I looked and brought in monsters that could attack from long distances. It was after selecting my game I realized why I was able to use only range attacks, it was all part of the ruleset I never bothered to check.
The poison was another thing that I noticed only during the game play. This was when I wished I had high health cards available. Normally I do prioritize health, but in this case I only worked with what I had in hand. I also discovered from this game that the best time to use a ranged attack is when you are using it, never allow your opponent to get close enough to reach you. It’s best to occupy the distance so as to give you the advantage. For me I took advantage of the situation lol.
Truth be told the splinterlands game is very unpredictable, but that’s just what makes it fun and if you think you will like to try out all the amazing experiences, feel free to join in here
